So, it turns out Dustin Poirier wasn’t heated that Diego Brandao failed to miss weight leading up to their fight this weekend at UFC 168.
The reason for Poirier’s passion and anger is that during the weigh-ins, is because Brandao pulled a bone-headed move and threatened to stab Poirier in the neck.
“I was so mad because before we walked on stage at weigh-ins, he told me he was going to stab me in the neck actually,” Poirier told the media last night. “They had to separate us.
“The guy’s nuts, man. That’s why I was so upset.”
These claims were backed up by Dana White who painted Brando in non-complimentary terms.
“I talked to him after the fight, and he told me a lot of personal things that – you know, it sounds to me like he needs to get his head together,” White told MMAjunkie. “He needs to make some serious decisions in his life if he wants to continue to be a professional fighter.
“And he knows it, so we’ll see what he does.”
Things aren’t looking good for Brandao and his career as a fighter in the UFC.
